Recently a few library patrons have noticed the phone system for EI is often congested (reaching an agent).
When you call 1 800 206-7218 you’ll reach a phone menu “please choose from the following menu options”. Pressing 0 will direct you to an agent but will often result in the message “At the moment our call volume is high and we are unable to transfer your call” if you get this message press 1 immediately and wait until “please choose from the following menu options” and press 0 again. If you hear “Your call has been placed in sequence…” you are now on hold for an agent. Otherwise you may need to repeat pressing 1 for the main menu, then 0 for an agent.
In short.. wait for the menu, press 0, if you dont get into the queue press 1 to go back to the menu.. & repeat
